1. Every page needs a title
2. Set the background color FIRST
*When NO background
color is chosen:
Internet Explorer: defaults to a white background
Netscape: defaults to a gray background
3.Most Web pages use TABLES to control the layout of the page
4.ALL images need an ALT label (a text-based description for
an image that appears
when the user places their mouse over the image)
5.Your HOME PAGE should take no longer than 25 seconds to
download with a 28.8 modem
(visitors get impatient after 25 seconds)
*Use the Download monitor to gauge download time (located
in lower right-hand corner)
6.Your HOME page should be no larger than a total of 65KB
FrontPage Component
-A program that works within your FrontPage-created document.
-Components work in conjunction with the server extensions.
-Include
Page: a master page that can be included on any number
of pages (useful for e-mail links, logos, copyright lines)
-Schedule
Include Page: a master page that can be included
and updated automatically on any number of pages (useful for
info. that appears for a limited amount of time; contests,
seasonal events, anything that has a definite start and ending
date) -
-TimeStamp
(date and time site was last updated)
Active Element
-FrontPage's term for Java
(A Java applet ia a small running program that's placed inside
your FrontPage-create document)
-Marquee
(scrolling text within your page)
